According to the Itivuttaka, a collection of sayings of the Buddha, our six senses (sight, hearing, smell, taste, touch and thought) are “doors”: whoever watches over what enters through them and stays moderate, especially in food, finds well-being of body and mind. Today, at a meal, eat slowly and stop before you are full; then choose a “door” (screens, for example) that you keep closed for an hour.
