✨ To meditate on today

According to the Sutta-Nipāta, the Buddha answers his disciple Ajita that the “streams” of the world, the desires and passions that carry the mind away, are held back by attention as by a dam, and calmed by understanding. Today, each time a desire or an anger sweeps you along, pause for one breath, name what is happening in you, and let the stream slow down.
