Lesson 72

This faint light from below is that of the prayer of men.

Excerpt

The light of this palace projects rays representing a sheaf of light of twenty-two different colors. But the light of the third palace begins to spread its radiance only when a faint light from below reaches it. It is the flame of a splinter that sets a pyre ablaze. This faint light from below is that of the prayer of men. As soon as this glimmer arrives, the sheaf is kindled, projecting its twenty-two rays of lights of different colors, which correspond to the twenty-two letters of Scripture.

โœจ To meditate on today

According to the Zohar, the great book of Jewish mysticism, the light of the heavenly palaces begins to shine only when a small glimmer from below reaches it, that of human prayer, just as a burning splinter sets a whole pyre ablaze. Today, take one minute for a prayer or a thought of gratitude, however brief, knowing that this small flame matters.
