Lesson 317

It clothes all things as with a garment, and makes no assumption of being their lord.

Excerpt

All things depend on It for their production, which It gives to them, not one refusing obedience to It. When Its work is accomplished, It does not claim the name of having done It. It clothes all things as with a garment, and makes no assumption of being their lord;--It may be named in the smallest things.

โœจ To meditate on today

According to Lao Tzu, the Tao gives birth to all beings without rejecting any, loves and nourishes them without setting Itself up as master, and never claims credit for what It has accomplished. Today, take care of someone or something (a loved one, a plant, a shared task) without seeking credit for it or trying to control it.
