The Free, the World makes enslaved; Aye to Slaves, Love Freedom gave. As the Bird freed from the Egg, From the World release I crave. Free me from the Shell that clings; Give me Life as from the Grave. O Love, the Quail in Spring's Free Fields, In Songs of wildest Joy must rave.

✨ To meditate on today
According to Rumi, the Persian Sufi poet, the world enslaves even the free, while divine Love sets free those who serve it: like the bird breaking out of the egg, the soul asks to break its shell so as to live and sing for joy. Today, notice a “shell” that holds you tight — a fear, a habit, a resentment — and make a small gesture, done out of love, that frees you from it a little.
