Whoso says "one" and "two," and so on, Confesses thereby the existence of the "One." When the illusion of seeing double is swept away, They who say "one" and "two" are even as they who say "One." If you take "One" as your ball in His tennis-field, It is made to revolve by the strokes of His bat. Yea, the ball that is even and without fault Is made to revolve by the strokes of the King's hand.

✨ To meditate on today
According to Rumi, all multiplicity — “one”, “two”, and so on — points back to the “One”, the one God; when the “double vision” that separates everything ceases, we let ourselves be moved with trust, like a ball under the King’s hand. Today, when something escapes you, place it inwardly in God’s hands and move forward with a trusting step, without trying to control everything.
