No one equaled that shepherd in love and devotion, Though his manner of expressing it was most faulty. His love pitched its tent on the heavens, He himself was as the dog at the tent-door.

✨ To meditate on today
According to Rumi, this shepherd, who naively wanted to mend God’s shoes, loved Him more than anyone, even if his words were clumsy: his love rose up to the heavens while he stayed humble, like the faithful dog lying at the tent-door. Today, pray or give thanks in your own words, even simple or clumsy ones, knowing that it is the love in the heart that counts.
