Lesson 362

Bring the vision of the Beloved in your heart.

Excerpt

Hang up the swing of love to-day! Hang the body and the mind between the arms of the Beloved, in the ecstasy of love's joy: Bring the tearful streams of the rainy clouds to your eyes, and cover your heart with the shadow of darkness: Bring your face nearer to His ear, and speak of the deepest longings of your heart. Kabรฎr says: "Listen to me, brother! bring the vision of the Beloved in your heart."

โœจ To meditate on today

According to Kabir, a mystic poet of India, the love of God is like a swing hung between the arms of the Beloved: as the monsoon brings its clouds, we can entrust Him with our tears as well as our deepest longings, and let His presence fill the heart. Today, take a moment to speak to God as one whispers in the ear of a loved one, and simply tell Him what is in your heart.
