Lesson 254

O mind, run to Him and rest at His feet.

Excerpt

Speech of mine, utter the sweet name of Vitthoba. O eyes, delight yourself with the sight of His face. O ears, listen to the attributes of my Vitthoba. O mind, run to Him and rest at His feet. Tuka says, O my soul, forsake not this Kesava.

โœจ To meditate on today

According to Tukaram, the poet-saint of Maharashtra, each of our senses can become prayer: speech utters the sweet name of Vitthoba (God as He is worshipped at Pandharpur, also called Kesava), the eyes contemplate His face, the ears listen to His qualities and the mind runs to rest at His feet. Today, when your mind is restless, bring it back gently, as one comes home, by inwardly repeating a divine name that is dear to you.
