Lesson 17

He endures all with a patient smile; from His speech proceeds a nectar of perfect joy.

Excerpt

He endures all with a patient smile; from His speech proceeds a nectar of perfect joy. The sages tasted in their souls this sweetness, when the cravings of their bodily life were stilled. He has taken a firm hold on the minds of men, for He is generous enough to give them their hearts’ desire.

✨ To meditate on today

According to Tukaram, God, here Vithoba, the Lord of Pandharpur, endures everything with a patient smile, and His words are a nectar of joy tasted by hearts at peace; He is generous enough to fulfil what each person deeply desires. Today, when something annoys you, try to respond as He does, with a patient smile, and notice the gentleness it brings.
