And then by little and little I recovered my former thoughts of Thy handmaid, her holy conversation towards Thee, her holy tenderness and observance towards us, whereof I was suddenly deprived: and I was minded to weep in Thy sight, for her and for myself, in her behalf and in my own. โจ To meditate on today
According to Saint Augustine, who has just lost his mother, Saint Monica, tears long held back become sweet when we let them flow before God: his heart finds rest in them, for God hears without judging. Today, if a sorrow or a loss weighs on you, give yourself a moment to lay it before God without holding back; and if someone near you is weeping, listen to them without judging.
