Lesson 312

So are the men of earth represented in heaven, in the fair and clear fountain of divine charity.

Excerpt

A devout soul, once beholding a fair brook wherein the heavens with their stars were pictured as in a mirror, said: My God! these same stars shall one day be beneath my feet, when Thou shalt have received me into Thy holy tabernacles; and as the stars of heaven are represented upon the earth, so are the men of earth represented in heaven, in the fair and clear fountain of divine charity.

✨ To meditate on today

According to Saint Francis de Sales, a soul contemplating the sky reflected in a brook understands that, in the same way, every person on earth is reflected in God’s love, as in a clear fountain. Today, in front of a reflection (a window, a puddle, a mirror), remember that every person you meet is present in this way in God’s heart, and look at them with that respect.
