Those creatures, Śāriputra, who are hearing the law from the present Tathāgatas, shall all of them reach supreme, perfect enlightenment.

According to the Lotus of the True Law, the Buddha assures Śāriputra, his disciple, that all beings who listen to the teaching of the Buddhas (the “Tathāgatas”) will also reach full awakening: no one is excluded. Today, look at each person you meet, even one who irritates you, as someone who carries within the capacity to awaken, and treat them with that respect.
