Lesson 194

A well-directed mind will do us greater service.

Excerpt

Whatever a hater may do to a hater, or an enemy to an enemy, a wrongly-directed mind will do us greater mischief. Not a mother, not a father will do so much, nor any other relative; a well-directed mind will do us greater service.

โœจ To meditate on today

According to the Dhammapada, our own mind has more power over us than anyone else: wrongly directed, it hurts us more than an enemy; well directed, it does us more good than a father or a mother. Today, each time you catch yourself brooding, gently redirect your mind towards something good, true or useful.
