And as we pay the debt we owe to truth – a debt which merely is the letting-go of self-deceptions and of images we worshipped falsely – truth returns to us in wholeness and in joy. We are deceived no longer. Love has now returned to our awareness. And we are at peace again, for fear has gone and only Love remains.

God asks of you only one sacrifice: that of your suffering, your feelings of loss and sadness, all anxiety and doubt. He asks you to let the flow of His Love pour freely into your awareness, healing you from pain and giving you His own eternal joy. This is the only « sacrifice » He asks, and it is made with joy. This is the only « cost » of restoring His memory in you, for the salvation of the world.
The great revelation is that sacrificing fear is not a loss but a gain. You lose nothing by releasing fear; you gain everything. Fear has never been your friend; it has always been your jailer. Letting it go is opening the door of your prison. You do it with joy because you know what you receive is infinitely greater than what you leave behind. Truth returns to you fully when you stop being deceived by the ego’s illusions.
This lesson is the natural next step from the previous one. You can only give up illusions; here, you do so with joy. Previous lessons have shown you that sacrifice is not demanded by God. Now you understand why: the only sacrifice is that of fear, and it is a joyful exchange. Love returns to your awareness, and peace settles in. Fear is gone, and only love remains. This is good news, the best of all.
To live this lesson, take a moment to identify a fear you are carrying. Face it and ask yourself: « Do I want to keep carrying this fear, or do I prefer freedom? » Then, with joy, choose to let it go. Say: « I gladly make the sacrifice of fear. » Smile as you say it, for it truly is good news. You will see fear dissolve, and in its place rise a gentle peace, a loving warmth. This is the return of love.
Fear is only an illusion you can let fall. Do it with joy, and let love fill your life.
