All fear is past because its source is gone, and all its thoughts gone with it. Love remains the only present state, whose Source is here forever and forever. Can the world seem bright and clear and safe and welcoming, with all my past mistakes oppressing it, and showing me distorted forms of pain? Yet in the present love is obvious, and its effects apparent. All the world shines in reflection of its holy light, and I perceive a world forgiven at last.
Father, let not Your holy world escape my sight today. Nor let my ears be deaf to all the hymns of gratitude the world is singing underneath the sounds of fear. There is a real world which the present holds safe from all past mistakes. And I would see only this world before my eyes today.

After receiving the certainty of a happy outcome (lesson 292), this lesson dissolves any lingering fear. In the curriculum, it is a moment of final purification. All fear is gone, because its source has disappeared, and all its thoughts have vanished with it. Love remains the only present state, whose Source is here forever and ever. Can the world appear clear and radiant when you cease to burden it with your past mistakes? Yes, because in the present, love is evident.
The central idea is that the whole world shines as the reflection of the holy light of love. You perceive a world at last forgiven. You ask the Father not to let His holy world escape your sight, not to let your ears be deaf to the hymns of gratitude the world sings. There is a real world that the present holds safe from all past errors. This is the world you wish to see today.
This lesson builds upon the previous one (happy outcome) and prepares for the final lessons 294–300. It echoes lesson 274 (this day belongs to love), lesson 282 (do not fear love), and lesson 289 (the past is over). Fear is finally transcended when you recognize it never had a real source. Only love remains, because only love is real.
In practice, today, whenever a thought of fear arises, even a tiny fear, a worry, an apprehension, say: 'This fear is not real. Its source has disappeared. Only love is here.' Then actively seek love in the situation. Where is love now? Perhaps in a smile, in the warmth of the sun, in the kindness of a stranger, in your own breath. Love is always there, more real than fear. Choose to see it.
Fear was never real. It was a cloud before the sun of love. Now, the cloud has dissolved. Look: only love is here. It has always been here. And it will remain forever.
