What is the Word of God? My Son is pure, and holy as Myself. And thus did God become the Father of the Son He loves, for thus was he created. This the Word His Son did not create with Him, because in this His Son was born. Let us accept His Fatherhood, and all is given us. Deny we were created in His Love and we deny our Self, to be unsure of who we are, of who our Father is, and for what purpose we have come. And yet, we need but to acknowledge Him Who gave His Word to us in our creation, to remember Him and so recall our Self.
Father, Your Word is mine. And it is this that I would speak to all my brothers, who are given me to cherish as my own, as I am loved and blessed and saved by You.
The Word of God says you are pure and holy, speak it to your brothers.
After learning to listen to divine guidance (Lesson 275), this lesson reveals the central message you are meant to share. Within the curriculum, it is a revelation of fundamental truth. What is the Word of God? "My Son is pure and holy as I Myself am." It is thus that God became the Father of the Son He loves. It is this Word that His Son did not create with Him, for in it His Son was born. To accept His Fatherhood is to receive everything.
The central idea is that the Word of God is also your word. By denying you were created in His Love, you deny your Self. By accepting His Word, you remember Him and your Self. You are invited to speak this Word to all your brothers, who are given to you to cherish as your own, just as you are loved, blessed, and saved by God. The Word you speak to others, you speak to yourself.
This lesson continues from Lesson 275 (the healing voice) and prepares for the following lessons on freedom (277–280). It echoes Lesson 252 (the Son of God is my Identity) and Lesson 260 (God created me). The Word of God is not a magical formula but a declaration of truth about your identity and that of all. By speaking it, you strengthen it within yourself.
In practice, today, memorize this phrase: "You are pure and holy as God Himself." Say it in your heart to every person you meet, aloud only if the situation allows. Look at someone and think: "You are pure and holy." Look in the mirror and say: "I am pure and holy." Whenever doubt or guilt arises, repeat the Word of God. It dissolves the clouds of fear.
The Word of God is the most powerful declaration there is. It reveals who you truly are. Speak it today to all you meet, and in giving it, you will receive it.
