Father, the truth belongs to me. My home is set in Heaven by Your Will and mine. Can dreams content me? Can illusions bring me happiness? What but Your memory can satisfy Your Son? I will accept no less than You have given me. I am surrounded by Your Love, forever still, forever gentle and forever safe.
God's Son must be as You created him. Today we pass illusions by. And if we hear temptation call to us to stay and linger in a dream, we turn aside and ask ourselves if we, the Sons of God, could be content with dreams, when Heaven can be chosen just as easily as hell, and love will happily replace all fear.

God’s Son cannot be satisfied by illusions.
After understanding that you choose your vision at every instant (lesson 271), this lesson helps you make the right choice by reminding you who you are. In the curriculum, it is a powerful rhetorical question. You, the Son of God, how could illusions truly satisfy you? Truth belongs to you. Your home is established in Heaven by the Will of God and your own. Then why would you settle for dreams when a far greater reality awaits you?
The central idea is that dreams and illusions cannot bring true happiness to God’s Son. Only the memory of God can satisfy His Son. You will accept nothing less than what God has given you. You are surrounded by His Love, always calm, always gentle, and always secure. If you hear temptation calling you to remain in a dream, turn away and ask yourself: why choose hell when Heaven is so easy to choose? Love will joyfully replace all fear.
This lesson builds upon the previous one (choice of vision) and prepares for lessons 273–275 on peace, love, and divine protection. It echoes lesson 251 (I need nothing except the truth) and lesson 252 (the Son of God is my Identity). If you know who you are, you know what can satisfy you. The world’s illusions are mere child’s toys for the Son of the King of the universe.
In practice, today, when you feel lack, desire, or dissatisfaction, pause. Observe what you believe you want. Then honestly ask yourself: 'Can this satisfy the Son of God that I am?' If the answer is no, let it go. You do not have to deprive yourself, but to recognize that what you truly seek is far greater. Every unsatisfied desire is a reminder that only God can fill the emptiness within you.
You are too great to be filled by the world’s small things. Your unfulfilled desires are proof you are seeking something far greater: God Himself. Do not settle for less.
