I will not lead my life alone today. I do not understand the world. And so to try to lead my life alone must be but foolishness. For there is One Who knows all that is best for me. And He is glad to make no choices for me but the ones that lead to God. This day I give to Him, for I would not delay my coming home, and it is He Who knows the way to Him.
And so we give today to You. We come with wholly open minds. We do not ask for anything that we may think we want. Give us what You would have received by us. You know all our desires and our needs. And You will give us everything we want and that will help us find the way to You.

Entrust your day to the One who knows the way.
After celebrating the arrival of salvation in the previous lesson, this lesson invites you to a concrete gesture: giving your day to God. In the curriculum, this is an essential practical step. You have recognized that salvation is present; now you learn to live from that recognition. The lesson addresses your tendency to want to control everything, to believe you know what is best for you. It gently reminds you that trying to lead your life alone is folly.
The central idea is trusting surrender. You do not understand the world, so trying to understand and manage it alone can only lead to confusion. But there is Someone who knows exactly what is best for you, and He is happy to make the choices that lead you to God. By giving your day to God, you open your mind completely, asking for nothing you think you want, but accepting what God wishes to give you.
This lesson extends the theme of lesson 241, where salvation was declared present. It also prepares the way for the lessons on non-judgment (243) and total safety in God (244). Giving your day to God is a practical application of forgiveness: you release your will to align with the Divine Will. It is the same movement as the later lessons on letting go of idols and returning to truth.
To practice this today, take a moment upon waking to say aloud: "This day is Yours, Father. I will not lead it alone." Then, throughout the day, whenever you catch yourself worrying, frantically planning, or trying to control events, pause and repeat the same phrase. Observe how things unfold effortlessly. You do not need to know how, only to trust.
Go ahead, let yourself be carried today. God knows exactly where you need to go, and He is far more reliable than your plans.
