What joy there is today! It is a time of special celebration. For today holds out the instant to the darkened world where its release is set. The day has come when sorrows pass away, and pain is gone. The glory of salvation dawns today upon a world set free. This is the time of hope for countless millions. They will be united now, as you forgive them all. For I will be forgiven by you today.
We have forgiven one another now, and so we come at last to You again. Father, Your Son, who never left, returns to Heaven and his home. How glad are we to have our sanity restored to us, and to remember that we all are one.

Salvation is already here, no need to wait.
This lesson arrives at a pivotal moment in the journey. After moving through all the work on forgiveness and Christ’s vision, you finally arrive at a celebration. This is a special time in the curriculum, for we no longer speak of preparing the way or learning to forgive, we announce that salvation has already come. The darkened world receives its deliverance, and sorrows depart. You are invited to feel the joy of this holy instant, to recognize that everything you have sought is already present, here and now.
The central idea is breathtakingly simple: salvation is not a future event to wait for, but a present reality to recognize. In forgiving others, you are forgiven in return, and in this mutual forgiveness, unity is revealed. The Son who never truly left returns to Heaven and to his home. Sanity of mind is restored simply because you accept that we are all one. This is a lesson of pure joy, effortless and unconditional.
This lesson echoes the previous one where you learned not to judge anything that happens (lesson 243). It also prepares the way for the following lessons on giving the day to God (lesson 242) and total safety in Him (lesson 244). The mutual forgiveness spoken of here is the key that opens every door in the rest of the curriculum. Every lesson after this is simply a variation on the same theme: you are home, you are safe, you are loved.
To live this lesson today, begin your day remembering that salvation has already come for you. Observe the people around you and silently choose to forgive them, not because they need forgiveness, but because you wish to recognize unity. Whenever a thought of judgment or fear crosses your mind, remember: "In this holy instant, salvation has come." Let joy replace effort.
You see, everything is already accomplished. All that remains is to accept it with gratitude and let peace flood your heart.
