(153) In my defenselessness my safety lies.
God is but Love, and therefore so am I.
(154) I am among the ministers of God.
God is but Love, and therefore so am I.
Non-defense and divine service.
We continue the review, and the guiding thought resonates like a mantra: God is only Love, therefore I am too. This phrase is not just an affirmation, it is the key that opens all doors. Why is review essential now? Because lessons 153 and 154 are demanding. To abandon defense and recognize that you are a minister of God requires an inner strength that only repetition can establish.
Lesson 153 taught you that your safety lies in non-defense. Defenses trap you in cycles of attack and response. By laying down your arms, you discover that nothing can truly threaten you. Lesson 154 reminded you that you are one of Godβs ministers. Your role is given by the Voice for God, who knows your strengths. The union of Father and Son places salvation apart from the world. In reviewing, you allow these two ideas to take root in your daily life.
Lesson 173 (review 155β156) and lesson 174 (review 157β158) will continue this theme of guidance and holiness. Reviews 171β180 are like a collective breath before reaching the peak of this section. Each review day offers you the chance to let go of layers of resistance that may have formed between lessons. God is only Love, therefore you are love, and love has no need to defend itself.
Practice:
Today, test non-defense. When you feel criticized or attacked, instead of reacting, remain silent within. Then remember: βIn my non-defense lies my safety, for God is only Love, therefore I am too.β And recall that you are a minister of God, not out of pride, but of service. Every action you take can be an offering of love.
You are safe, because you are loved.
