Wherefore it has been said, 'An owl's eyes are adapted to their use. A crane's leg is of the length required. 'Twould be disastrous to shorten it.' Thus it has been said, 'The wind blows and the river suffers. The sun shines and the river suffers.' But though wind and sun be both brought into relation with the river, it does not really suffer therefrom. Fed from its source, it still continues to flow on.

โจ To meditate on today
According to Chuang Tzu, there is no point in wanting to change the nature of beings: the owl has the eyes it needs, the crane the legs it needs, and whoever draws on their natural resources keeps flowing, like a river fed by its source. Today, instead of regretting what you lack, note a quality you already have and make full use of it.
