Lesson 234

His good influence benefits all throughout the empire, without respect to persons.

Excerpt

The sea does not reject the streams which flow eastward into it. Therefore it is immeasurably great. The true Sage folds the universe in his bosom. His good influence benefits all throughout the empire, without respect to persons.

โœจ To meditate on today

According to Chuang Tzu, the sea is great because it welcomes every stream; in the same way, the sage embraces heaven and earth and does good to all without seeking to be known. Today, welcome without sorting what others bring you (an idea, a complaint, a smile), and do a good deed without signing it.
