Lesson 173

I will open my mouth with a parable.

Excerpt

I will open my mouth with a parable; I will utter dark sayings concerning days of old; That which we have heard and known, And our fathers have told us, We will not hide from their children, Telling to the generation to come the praises of the LORD, And His strength, and His wondrous works that He hath done.

✨ To meditate on today

According to the psalmist, what our fathers have told us of God’s wonders must not be lost: it is passed on to the next generation, like a treasure of stories. Today, tell a child, a young person or someone close to you a story from your family or your life in which goodness won out.
