When he escapes from opinion and knowledge is seen, This bird gains two wings and spreads both of them. Afterwards he "goes upright on a straight path, Not grovelling on his face or creeping." He flies up on two wings even as the angel Gabriel, Free of opinion, of duplicity, and of vain talk.

โจ To meditate on today
According to Rumi, the bird of opinion rises and falls on a single wing; when true knowledge appears to it, it receives two wings and flies straight upward, like the angel Gabriel, free of duplicity and vain talk. Today, before speaking about someone or a situation, ask yourself whether you know or only suppose, and choose simple, true words.
