Lesson 136

If the mirror were unveiled, how would it be?

Excerpt

Branches of trees dancing like fair damsels, Leaves clapping hands like singers. These glories are a mirror shining through a veil; If the mirror were unveiled, how would it be? I tell not one in a thousand of them, Because every ear is stopped with doubt.

โœจ To meditate on today

According to Rumi, the dance of the branches and the clapping of the leaves are glories that reflect, through a veil, a greater beauty, that of God; if the veil fell, what would we see? Today, watch a tree or a plant moving in the wind for a minute, and let it remind you of the Beauty hidden behind it.
