Lesson 100

My heart has become capable of every form.

Excerpt

My heart has become capable of every form: it is a pasture for gazelles and a convent for Christian monks, And a temple for idols and the pilgrim's Kaʿba and the tables of the Tora and the book of the Koran. I follow the religion of Love: whatever way Love's camels take, that is my religion and my faith.

✨ To meditate on today

According to Ibn Arabî in the Tarjumân al-Ashwâq, the heart opened by Love becomes capable of welcoming every form, from the gazelles of the desert to Christian monks, from the Torah to the Koran: Love is its religion. Today, welcome with respect someone whose belief or way of life differs from yours, and look for what, in them, speaks of love.
