Tukaram, Poem 2454

What is the use of spreading dainty dishes
before cattle or rubbing sandal on an ass?
Keep me, O Lord, from the wicked, whose assembly
delights not in discourse of Thee. What
does a monkey care for a bed or bedstead or
any other luxury? He destroys ornaments and
throws them away. Tuka says, Why feed a snake
on butter? He would turn nectar into poison.
