The intensely dark night of selfishness, so agreeable to the owl-like passions of love and hate, abides in the soul only until the rising of the sun-like Lord. Now I am well, and all my fears are over, in that I have beheld Your lotus feet. None of the threefold torments of life has any effect upon him, to whom You in Your mercy show favour.

✨ To meditate on today
According to Tulsidas, it is Vibhishan, the brother of King Ravan, who speaks here to Rama, the divine incarnation: the night of selfishness, in which attachments and grudges stir, lasts only until the rising of the sun-like Lord, and before Him all his fears have vanished. Today, at daybreak or when you see the sun, entrust one specific fear to Him and let His light gently dissolve it.
