Lesson 281

I enjoy now perfect peace behind me and before.

Excerpt

This is now my task, not to forget Thy name, to clap my hands and dance delighted by Thy love. I enjoy now perfect peace behind me and before; the threefold triad of knowledge, the power of fate are swept away. How happily the day passes on the pure bank of the Godaveri, where there is God, God’s temples, and crowds of saints.

✨ To meditate on today

According to Tukaram, the poet-saint of Maharashtra, when we no longer forget God’s name and let ourselves be delighted by His love, perfect peace settles in, past and future grow quiet, and each day becomes joyful, as on the pure bank of the Godaveri, a sacred river of India. Today, take a moment to rejoice wholeheartedly, to sing, clap your hands or dance a little, offering this joy to God.
