Lesson 268

Tremble not and keep quiet; this merciful one is my Lord.

Excerpt

Tremble not and keep quiet; this merciful one is my Lord. He will give me eternal joy in the end of all things, the source of the eight million rebirths will pass away. He will show Himself generous to other souls also, millions of benefits He will confer.

✨ To meditate on today

According to Tukaram, the poet-saint of Maharashtra, there is nothing to fear: the Lord is merciful, He will give eternal joy and free us from the long cycle of rebirths (the “eight million” lives that Indian tradition assigns to beings), and His generosity extends to all souls. Today, when worry rises, gently tell yourself “Tremble not, keep quiet,” then wish another person the same good you hope for yourself.
