Lesson 265

Therefore Love alone is to be embraced by those who desire liberation.

Excerpt

Therefore Love alone is to be embraced by those who desire liberation. Nârada claims that Love is greater than work, knowledge, or yoga, and gives as his reason that it is its own end, not merely a means to an end, as he maintains knowledge is. We have a proverb — “Virtue is its own reward,” Nârada says the same of Love.

✨ To meditate on today

According to the Narada Bhakti Sutra, a collection of aphorisms attributed to the sage Narada, divine Love is not a means to obtain something else: it is its own end, just as virtue is its own reward, and that is why it is the path to liberation. Today, do one thing out of pure love, without aiming at any result, cooking a meal, listening to someone, and taste the joy it carries in itself.
