An ocean is that one seer, without any duality; this is the Brahma-world, O King.

Excerpt

An ocean is that one seer, without any duality; this is the Brahma-world, O King. Thus did Yâgñavalkya teach him. This is his highest goal, this is his highest success, this is his highest world, this is his highest bliss. All other creatures live on a small portion of that bliss.

✨ To meditate on today

According to the Brihadaranyaka-upanishad, the sage Yâgñavalkya teaches King Janaka that the awareness that sees within us is like an ocean without separation: it is the world of Brahman, the Absolute, the supreme joy of which all creatures taste only a small portion. Today, when you experience a small joy, a hot coffee, a laugh, a ray of sunshine, savour it fully, telling yourself that it is a drop of that ocean of bliss.
