The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a contrite heart: and He will save the humble of spirit.

According to the psalmist, God does not stand far from suffering: He hears the cry of the just and draws near to the brokenhearted. Today, if you are carrying a sorrow, tell it to God in your own words, without hiding it; and if someone around you is downcast, draw near to them with a visit, a call or a message.
