J. said: “If your teachers say to you, ‘Look, the way to God is in heaven,’ then the birds will precede you. If they say to you, ‘It is in the sea,’ the fish will precede you. On the contrary, the way to God is within you, and you are everywhere. When thou knowest thyself, thou shalt be known, and thou shalt understand that we are one. But if thou knowest not thyself, thou livest in poverty, and thou art poverty.”

✨ To meditate on today
According to the Gospel of Thomas (where “J.” stands for Jesus), the way to God is not to be sought far away, in the sky or in the sea, but within; truly knowing yourself means discovering that we are one, while not knowing yourself makes you poor. Today, take five quiet minutes to look honestly and kindly at what lives in you, then make a gesture that connects you with someone, remembering that “we are one.”
