He often visiteth the inward man and holdeth with him sweet discourse, giving him soothing consolation, much peace, friendship exceeding wonderful.

Excerpt

Christ will come to thee, and show thee His consolation, if thou prepare a worthy mansion for Him within thee. All His glory and beauty is from within, and there it pleaseth Him to dwell. He often visiteth the inward man and holdeth with him sweet discourse, giving him soothing consolation, much peace, friendship exceeding wonderful.

✨ To meditate on today

According to The Imitation of Christ, Christ loves to visit the heart of the one who prepares an inner dwelling for Him, and His presence brings gentleness, consolation and an inexhaustible peace. Today, before a task or a meeting, take one minute to “tidy” your heart: let go of a useless worry and inwardly invite Jesus to come and dwell there.
