It is great marvel that I am so suddenly lifted up, and so graciously embraced by Thee.

According to The Imitation of Christ, there is good reason to marvel: while we are often dragged down by our own weight (tiredness, discouragement, faults), God suddenly lifts us up and takes us kindly into His arms. Today, when you feel pulled down, stop for a moment and imagine yourself lifted and carried with tenderness, then set off again with a lighter step.
