Lesson 109

What Thou doest is good.

Excerpt

O Lord, Holy Father, be Thou blessed now and evermore; because as Thou wilt so it is done, and what Thou doest is good. Let Thy servant rejoice in Thee, not in himself, nor in any other; because Thou alone art the true joy, Thou art my hope and my crown, Thou art my joy and my honour, O Lord.

✨ To meditate on today

According to The Imitation of Christ, the one who prays blesses God for what happens according to His will, and places his joy in Him alone, his hope and his crown. Today, when facing an event you did not choose, try simply saying “What Thou doest is good,” then look for the hidden good it may hold.
