Lesson 101

What good it is to be united for ever to one’s source!

Excerpt

What good it is to be united for ever to one’s source! There, surrounded and penetrated by God, as birds are by the air, they are flooded on every side with incredible consolations; there, each vying with the other, they sing the praises of the Creator: “Blessed be Thou for ever,” they cry, “O Thou Who art our Creator and our Saviour, Thou Who art so good to us, and Who so liberally impartest Thy glory to us.”

✨ To meditate on today

According to Saint Francis de Sales, to be united to God, our source, is to be surrounded and penetrated by Him as a bird is by the air, and this is what makes the saints sing. Today, when you are outside, watch a bird fly or feel the air around you, and remember that God surrounds you in the same way.
