Lesson 100

Your Father knoweth what you have need of, before you ask.

Excerpt

For we pray also, and yet Truth hath said, Your Father knoweth what you have need of, before you ask. It is then our affections which we lay open unto Thee, confessing our own miseries, and Thy mercies upon us, that Thou mayest free us wholly, since Thou hast begun, that we may cease to be wretched in ourselves, and be blessed in Thee [โ€ฆ]

โœจ To meditate on today

According to Saint Augustine, God knows what we need before we even ask: if we confide our miseries to Him, it is so that our love may grow and His mercy may bring us into His joy. Today, entrust to God in one simple sentence a need you carry, not to inform Him, but to rely on His love.
