Lesson 85

The Tathāgata comes to blow over the minds of mankind with the breath of his love.

Excerpt

As a great and mighty wind which passeth over the world in the heat of the day, so the Tathāgata comes to blow over the minds of mankind with the breath of his love, so cool, so sweet, so calm, so delicate; and those tormented by fever assuage their suffering and rejoice at the refreshing breeze.

✨ To meditate on today

According to The Gospel of Buddha, the Tathāgata, the name the Buddha gives himself (“the one who has thus come”), passes over hearts like a cool wind in the heat of the day: his love soothes those tormented by the fever of the passions. Today, be a cool breeze for someone who is agitated or exhausted: a calm voice, a gentle word, a moment of peaceful presence.
