Lesson 142

He lights a lamp in the darkness.

Excerpt

Glorious is the truth, O Lord! The Buddha, the Holy One, our Master, sets up what has been overturned; he reveals what has been hidden; he points out the way to the wanderer who has gone astray; he lights a lamp in the darkness so that all who have eyes to see can discern the things that surround them.

โœจ To meditate on today

According to the Gospel of Buddha, a grateful disciple compares the Buddha to one who sets up what was overturned, shows the road to the lost traveller and lights a lamp in the night so that everyone can see what surrounds them. Today, be that lamp for someone: help a person who is lost (in a procedure, a place, a worry) to see more clearly.
