Lesson 122

The more evil comes from him, the more good shall go from me.

Excerpt

And the Buddha said: "If a man foolishly does me wrong, I will return to him the protection of my ungrudging love; the more evil comes from him, the more good shall go from me; the fragrance of goodness always comes to me, and the harmful air of evil goes to him."

โœจ To meditate on today

According to The Gospel of Buddha, the Buddha answers the one who wrongs him with ungrudging love: goodness spreads like a fragrance, while evil falls back on the one who commits it, like a heavy air that does not leave its author. Today, if someone hurts you, offer them in return a word or a gesture of kindness, without waiting for them to change.
