“Be in my mind, my Father, when I wake, and shine on me throughout the day today. Let every minute be a time in which I dwell with You. And let me not forget my hourly thanksgiving that You have remained with me, and always will be there to hear my call to You and answer me. As evening comes, let all my thoughts be still of You and of Your Love, and let me sleep sure of my safety, certain of Your care, and happily aware I am Your Son.”
This is as every day should be. Today practice the end of fear. Have faith in Him Who is your Father. Trust all things to Him. Let Him reveal all things to you, and be you undismayed because you are His Son.
Let God be in your mind throughout the day.
This lesson is a continuous prayer for God’s presence in every moment of your day. It begins at waking: "Be in my mind, my Father, as I wake, and shine upon me today all through the day." Your day does not begin with the world’s concerns, but with an invitation to divine presence. From the very first instant of awareness, before thoughts of tasks, duties, or worries arise, you turn your mind to God. You invite Him to be present, to shine upon you as the sun lights the earth. This initial invitation sets the tone for your entire day.
The lesson structures time into a succession of sacred moments: "Let each minute be a time when I remain with You. And let me not forget to thank You each hour for staying with me, and for always being there to hear my call and answer me." Each minute becomes an opportunity to remain with God. Each hour, a moment to thank Him.
The day ends as it began: "When evening comes, let all my thoughts still be of You and of Your Love. And let me sleep in certainty of my safety, assured of Your care, and joyfully aware that I am Your Son." Awareness of God does not cease at sunset. Your final thoughts before sleep are of Him, and your sleep itself is cradled in the certainty of safety, care, and filial identity.
Practice:
Today, set reminders on your phone or place small notes in strategic places to remember to say: "Be in my mind, my Father, all through the day." Each hour, take three seconds to silently thank: "Thank You for being with me." In the evening, before sleep, review your thoughts with God, entrusting everything to Him, and fall asleep in the certainty that you are His Son, perfectly safe and loved.
To live each day with God in your mind is to transform the most ordinary day into a continuous conversation with infinite Love.
