Father, I will but to remember You.

You want only one thing: to remember God.

This lesson pierces through all the multiple and conflicting desires you believe you have, revealing the one desire hidden behind them all. "What can I seek, Father, except Your Love? I may think I seek something else, something I have called by many names. Yet Your Love is the only thing I seek or have ever sought.

The world offers you substitutes for this one desire. It gives you temporary pleasures, imperfect relationships, fleeting successes. But none of these can satisfy the fundamental longing of your heart, because none of them is God’s Love. This lesson frees you from the endless search: "For there is nothing else I could ever truly want to find. Let me remember You.

The lesson ends with a declaration of unity: "This is your will, my brother. And you share this will with me, and with Him Who is our Father. To remember Him is Heaven. This is what we seek. And this alone will ever be given us to find.

Practice:

Today, whenever you desire something, an object, a situation, a relationship, ask yourself: "What am I truly seeking through this desire?" Then, after identifying the underlying need (security, love, recognition, peace), say: "Father, I want only to remember You. It is You I am seeking through all things.

All your desires are like rivers flowing toward the same ocean: God’s Love. By recognizing this, you allow yourself to stop following the rivers and rest directly in the ocean.
