It is heaven's function to produce life and to spread a canopy over it. It is Earth's function to form material bodies and to support them. It is the Sage's function to teach others and to influence them for good. It is the function of created things to conform to their proper nature.

✨ To meditate on today
According to Lieh Tzu, heaven gives life, the earth carries, the sage teaches, and each being has its own qualities: no one has every talent, and each receives from others what it lacks. Breathe gently and, with each breath, give thanks for the life that is given to you, then name one person or thing that carries you today.
