In Nan-yΓΌeh there is a district, called Established-Virtue. Its people are simple and honest, unselfish, and without passions. They can make, but cannot keep. They give, but look for no return. They are not conscious of fulfilling obligations. They are not conscious of subservience to etiquette. Their actions are altogether uncontrolled, yet they tread in the way of the wise. Life is for enjoyment; death, for burial.

β¨ To meditate on today
According to Chuang Tzu, the simple people of this town, without scheming or desire, produce without hoarding and give without asking for anything, and so live in harmony with the great laws of nature. Today, give something, a service, an object or some time, without expecting anything in return, not even a thank-you.
