Lesson 296

That through which one passes in and out without seeing its form, that is the Portal of God.

Excerpt

Birth is not a beginning; death is not an end. There is existence without limitation; there is continuity without a starting-point. Existence without limitation is Space. Continuity without a starting-point is Time. There is birth, there is death, there is issuing forth, there is entering in. That through which one passes in and out without seeing its form, that is the Portal of God.

โœจ To meditate on today

According to Chuang Tzu, births and deaths, appearances and disappearances take place silently within one and the same unity, the Principle, which is called the heavenly gate: through it all beings enter existence and leave it, without ever leaving the Whole. Today, faced with something that is beginning or ending in your life, remember that everything passes through this same gate, and welcome this passage with peace.
