In the days of the Great Yü, there were nine years of flood out of ten; but this did not add to its bulk. In the days of T'ang, there were seven years out of eight of drought; but this did not narrow its span. ✨ To meditate on today
According to Chuang Tzu, it is the turtle of the eastern sea speaking here to a frog living at the bottom of a well: neither floods nor droughts change the sea, which remains still and vast. Today, when an event shakes you, imagine yourself as this deep sea that floods and droughts do not stir, and respond from that calm.
