Excerpt

I adjure you, O daughters of Jerusalem: Why should ye awaken, or stir up love, Until it please? Who is this that cometh up from the wilderness, Leaning upon her beloved? Under the apple-tree I awakened thee; There thy mother was in travail with thee; There was she in travail and brought thee forth.

✨ To meditate on today

According to the Song of Songs, love that has not been forced eventually comes: the beloved woman comes up from the wilderness leaning on the one she loves, as one leans on a sure presence after a long road. Today, let yourself lean on someone who loves you — ask for advice, help, a shoulder — and in turn offer your support to someone who is tired.
